In Search of Osama bin Goldstein

In the small hours of the morning of February 24, 2006 an epoch-making broadcast took place. George Noory, a supposed member of the mainstream media, allowed a reasoned and scientific rebuttal to the official version of the events of 9-11-01 on his Coast to Coast AM radio program. The Scholars for 9/11 Truth, namely James Fetzer, David Ray Griffin, and Morgan Reynolds, had three hours of national air time to make their case for the controlled demolition of the WTC. My wife and I sat up and listened to the entire three hours on WIBX, celebrating with suitable beverages. The truth was bouncing off the ionosphere–and we were cheering it on.

If the three buildings of the World Trade Center came down through controlled demolition, that would give rise to the corollary that the hijackings (if they were such) were staged to lend credence to the Islamic terrorist theory–the Legend of the 19 Hijackers with Boxcutters. Never mind that several of the alleged “suiciders” were since found alive and well. And never mind that Osama bin Laden denied having anything to do with the attacks shortly after they occurred. (Subsequent tapes to the contrary were, according to reputable experts, not actually by Osama.) Thus Osama becomes the focus of our jingoistic hatred of the Other, a personification of the perfidy of Islam, the feature presentation in our own three-minutes’ hate: Osama bin Goldstein.

Did you feel your innate bigotry tumesce in the days and weeks after 9/11? Did you want to kill as many of the “terrorists” as possible, and forcibly convert the survivors to the One True Faith? Did you yelp with national pride as we went off to obliterate Afghanistan and Iraq, murdering countless men, women, and children, and poisoning their lands forever with the dust of depleted uranium? What if it was all a lie? What if the true culprits, the true terrorists were not the legions of fanatics led by Dialysis Boy but our own home-grown nasties, rearing their murderous heads as The Project for the New American Century? They got their “New Pearl Harbor” on 9-11-01–and their names are available for public review: Paul Wolfowitz, Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, Richard Perle, William Kristol, Jeb Bush–and others. These are the dreaded Neo-Cons–and they scare me far more than the Islamic terrorists they have conjured up as boogeymen.

Uticans for 9/11 Truth salutes George Noory for allowing the Scholars to tell the truth on his program. Five million people heard a version of events they possibly never heard before. It now remains for the guilty parties to be brought to justice in the court of law. We have more than enough evidence to convict if an unbought judge and jury can be found.

Thanks for giving us a link on RAI--and for keeping an open mind on this stuff. Herb and I are trying to look at this issue from a reasonable, scientific standpoint. I'm not one to jump on any bandwagons--I don't have the knees for it.

I realize that we look like Don Quixote and Sancho Panza (armed with keyboards instead of lances) pursuing these chimerical villains, but the evidence for their criminality is so compelling that we can't ignore it.

I think the problem with most people is that they're too damn law abiding--and too respectful of authority. The problem with authority is that it isn't law abiding at all--and really couldn't care less about the people. The villainy of authority is so great that most people can't even comprehend it--and so they write respectful little fairy tales about its wisdom and goodness that become codified into textbooks. This is the sort of dynamic that leads to things like Fascism and Nazism--and other flavors of despotism.

Authority, for its own part, dreams and drools over Genghis Khan--all that lovely power without restraint!
